Welcome to Southern Bank & Trust!

In 2005, the directors of Southeastern Bank Financial Corporation saw the need for a community bank in Aiken, South Carolina that could serve the growing financial needs of the area. They began organizing what is today Southern Bank & Trust.

As a subsidiary of Southeastern Bank Financial Corporation, the growing community bank has benefited from the deep roots of its already established sister institution—Georgia Bank & Trust—Augusta's oldest and largest community bank currently celebrating 20 years of service to the Augusta community. From the beginning, the organizers chose the familiar blue shield as a visual means to mark the commonalities of the two institutions. Namely, both banks share the core values of integrity, excellence and responsiveness as well as an unwavering commitment to high quality customer service.

Frank Townsend, the President of Southern Bank & Trust is optimistic about their continued growth. “We are excited to be building a bank around the needs of the people in this community, and we are proud to show that support as the title sponsor for Aiken's Steeplechase.” Indeed, the possibilities are promising as Southern Bank & Trust builds a solid foundation of experienced bankers.
